Melly Tude
Mel Corrigan is a freelance writer from Clarkston, Michigan and the business manager at Scribe Publishing Company in Royal Oak. Her writing has been published in The Oakland County Times and Scribe Publishing News.

Mel started off as an engineer. With a B.S. in chemical engineering and a M.S. and doctorate in fuel science, she spent five years working in the auto industry and held related board positions and mentoring roles. She resigned in 2013 to become a stay-at-home mother of two and pursue a career in writing. She launched a freelance writing business and held various roles with Scribe Publishing Company: project manager, editorial assistant and business manager (presently). She volunteered as a copyeditor with Hippocampus Magazine for one year. Unrelated to writing, Mel has held board positions with a local preschool and an education foundation at a charter school and volunteered at her local food pantry.

Creative nonfiction is a mainstay in Mel’s writing. From snippets to unfinished (sometimes sprawling) essays, philosophical ponderings abound.

Mel’s interests include nurturing her boys, gardening, whole-foods cooking, cheering her husband on at vintage races, reading, philosophizing, writing, making pottery, traveling and spending time with friends and family. .

MelCorrigan.com is a blog about people, life and perceptions. Passionate about submitting only to the verdict of one’s own mind and advocating for choice, Mel writes about themes such as community, education, dynamic versus static existence, binary versus romantic (complex) considerations, using control volumes to assess situations and perspectives.

  1. Hey Mel: Love the WordPress website. I am long overdue to put together a good website since our move to UMich. Would you be interested in reviewing a paper on Hydrogen IC engines? I am serving as an Associate Editor for Energy & Fuels these days. regards, Andre
